Conference to be face-to-face in May 2022!
The AusPATH 2022 Conference Organising committee has decided to go ahead with planning a face-to-face conference in Darwin in May 2022. We will do our utmost to provide a safe and welcoming environment to all people inside and outside our community.
We are super excited to be able to welcome our AusPATH community back to a face-to-face event. We have certainly missed seeing all of you over the past 2 years. It’s been a tough time for everyone, and it’s high time we return to the strong sense of community and collaboration which comes from our AusPATH events.
We want you to know the measures that will be taken in regards to COVID-19 for the event. In short, we recognise that people are responsible for their own health, can make decisions for themselves, and would be considerate of the health of those around them.
To keep you safe on-site and to ensure that AusPATH 2022 Darwin can be enjoyed by all in the safest way possible, we will be guided by NT Public Health orders and will be implementing the following:
- All delegates must be at least double vaccinated to attend the conference
- We will be doing a temperature check prior to entry to the conference
- You will be required to wear a mask in all indoor settings, except whilst eating and drinking, unless you have an exemption
- We will be providing sanitiser stations
- Seating in the conference rooms will be spread out where possible allowing additional space between the rows to accommodate social distancing.
For those coming from interstate, please see the latest news on each state and territory interstate border restrictions.
If you have any questions that have not been answered, please give us a call on +61 8 9486 2000 or email us at email@example.com for accommodation and registration queries, or firstname.lastname@example.org for program enquiries.
Thank you for supporting the AusPATH Conference, we look forward to seeing you in Darwin this May.
On behalf of the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health, it is my pleasure to invite you to the Biennial AusPATH Conference, to be held from 19 – 21 May 2022, at Double Tree by Hilton on the Esplanade, Darwin Northern Territory.
The theme of the Conference is Building Bridges: Walking Together into Tomorrow.
The program will feature a mixture of international and Australian plenary speakers, with an emphasis on local content from experts and community in the Northern Territory. Sessions will represent the domains of medicine, allied health, education, ethics and human rights, with a whole day devoted to trans (binary and non-binary) youth. There will be workshops, panel discussions and presentation of new research, and of course some brilliant social functions for networking!
We welcome all trans (binary and non-binary) people in the community to attend, and we especially welcome Sistergirls and Brotherboys. We also welcome all doctors-in-training, and parents of trans (binary and non-binary) youth.
The backdrop is beautiful Darwin in the Top End, a setting famous for its relaxed nature, amazing weather and glorious sunsets. The AusPATH Conference is a unique and exciting opportunity to meet other professionals and community members who are passionate about delivering high quality care and support to the trans community. You will expand your knowledge, make new acquaintances and catch up with old friends. You might even meet a croc or two!
I look forward with great anticipation to seeing you there.
Dr Fiona Bisshop. President, Australian Professional Association for Trans Health.
